ABOUT THIS SITE
Stringing Pearls
"Charaz"

When it comes to spiritual matters and dogma, issues should be considered from the vantage
point of the entire scripture. "How does a particular thought weigh in against the whole counsel
of God?"

This panoramic approach is similar to a practice of preaching and study used by rabbis even
before the time of Christ. They called this rabbinical method "charaz," which meant "stringing
together." The speaker would select a theme and then cite verses from different parts of the Law,
Prophets, and Psalms as part of his teaching. It became known as "stringing pearls" because
scripture verses were thought of as valuable "pearls" of wisdom. By "stringing together" verses
relevant to his theme, the speaker would create a spiritual necklace of thought and teaching.

Charaz was a favored mode of teaching used also by Jesus, Paul, and the author of the book of
Hebrews.

It is not our intent to build a case for Christianity with the materials we present in
this website; rather, we see our mission herein as the building up of the saints.
This website includes a variety of mat
erials  designed to encourage and engage
you during your spiritual walk; to serve as nourishment to those who already
believe.

What does it mean to be a Christian? Subjectively, the answer to that question
will vary from person to person as a variety of qualifiers are considered. How
long have you been a Christian? Where do you live? What have you been
taught? How much of the Bible have you studied?

It is to the last two variables that we have dedicated this website. Our prayer
and goal is to humbly offer an opportunity to challenge and stretch believers. In
anticipating the multiple needs of our viewers, we have included a variety of
mediums to provide the opportunity to select from available formats that best fit
your own needs.

Devotional Studies
We believe that “being a Christian” denotes an attitude of study and a
constant desire to better know our God. It is to that end that we will present
truths and principles found from a deep, exegetical study of God’s word. We
will present scripture, without an agenda in order to provide challenging
principles that will result in an honest evaluation of our walk with God and
in the world in which we have been placed.

1-Minute Dailys
Daily devotions are offered to you using an e-mail format. Each "e-votion"
highlights a specific scriptural passage, provides meaningful insight
related to those verses, and guides you through a relevant prayer.

Meditations
We have included a collection of meditations that we pray will inspire your
connection to the God who pursues you.
Examining the great truths of the Bible to see how they fit together as God's Divine Plan.
